HOW WE MAKE OUR JEWELLERY
Providing your fingerprint
You can send us a photo of an existing fingerprint (from ink, pencil, or digital image), or you can follow our instructions below to capture a new fingerprint in pencil at home. We’ve been working with fingerprint for a long time, and are able to work with most prints, but will let you know if we need a clearer image.
Crafting your jewellery
All our fingerprint jewellery is handmade to order in Shropshire. Once we have made your jewellery, your fingerprint is deeply engraved using laser technology and guarateed not to wear away. Each piece is then carefully polished, before being packed in a Hold upon Heart gift box and posted - ready to wear and treasure.

HOW TO TAKE A FINGERPRINT
ORDER A PRINT KIT
Fingerprints can easily be captured using a pencil and sticky tape. Follow the instructions to the left, and keep going until you get a nice clear fingerprint. This method works really well, but if you are trying to capture a fingerprint from a child under 1 year old, or from someone who has passed away, then you may get better results using one of our specialist ink fingerprint kits, which can be ordered below.

We have been working with fingerprints since 2012, and are experts at what we do. Each print is carefully transformed into a digital file by hand, before being deeply laser engraved. Every line, every crack, all the things that make a fingerprint unique, are faithfully captured.

No problem - its really easy to capture a fingerprint at home with just sticky tape and pencil - take a peek at the instructions in the section above. We can also provide an ink fingerprint kit if you prefer - these can work better for very young children under 1 year old, and for people who have passed away. The clearer the print, the better the final result. We’ll always check your image and let you know if improvements are needed before we begin.
Rest assured we can work with even the finest of detail - the main key to sucess is ensuring you take a really sharp, clear photo of an individual fingerprint, in good lighting. This will allow us to zoom in on the line detail that you may struggle to see with the naked eye.

Yes - as long as you can take a photo of it, we can work with it. Many customers use prints from cards, documents, or keepsakes. We have even worked with a photo of a fingerprint left on a CD! If you have any doubts, then feel free to send us your fingerprint to check over before placing your order.

All our fingerprint jewellery is handmade to order with the care and attention such special pieces deserve. Making time varies depending on the piece ordered, and our workload, but most pieces are completed within a few weeks. More precise making times are detailed on the top of each product listing.

Absolutely. Once we have your fingerprint on file we can recreate any of our fingerprint designs for you.

We can work with fingerprints from people of all ages, providing there is detail in the fingerprint. Our difficulties more often come down to blurry photos rather than bad fingerprints. Prints from children under 1 are certainly finer and more delicate than from an oldre person, so you may need to take ore attempts to get a good result, and the print detail may only be apparent when you zoom in on your photo. If in doubt, send your fingerprint to us to take a peek.
