HOW OUR FINGERPRINT JEWELLERY IS MADE
At Hold upon Heart we currently offer four collections of fingerprint jewellery, all made differently. Below you will find a short summary of the jewellery we offer and the making process behind each collection.
IMPRESSIONS
VIEW IMPRESSIONS COLLECTION
Our Impressions collection is inspired by touch. Each piece begins as a hand-crafted wax model, featuring a soft, finger-shaped impression on its surface. Through the ancient process of lost-wax casting, the design is transformed into solid silver or gold and professionally cast in London’s renowned jewellery quarter.
Once the casting returns to us, it undergoes careful refinement. Every surface is meticulously worked and polished to achieve a flawless, high-shine finish. Finally, using precision laser engraving, we imprint a unique fingerprint into the finger-shaped dimple - bringing each piece to life with the intimate illusion of touch.
RIDGE
VIEW RIDGE DESIGNS
Our Ridge collection of fingerprint jewellery celebrates pattern as texture. Each piece is carefully handcrafted in our Shropshire studio, where it begins life as a sheet of precious silver or gold. Using traditional hand-piercing techniques, every form is individually cut, giving each piece a subtle uniqueness and a true sense of craftsmanship.
Once shaped and refined, we use precision laser engraving to etch the fingerprint across the entire surface. This process allows the intricate ridges, loops, and whorls of the print to emerge in striking detail, creating a tactile, flowing pattern that catches both the light and the eye.
The result is a piece that feels both contemporary and deeply personal - where the natural beauty of a fingerprint becomes a bold, textural statement.
